Whether you are setting up a touring rig for Leh-Manali or a fast road bike for Pune's Katraj climbs, the Aileron offers a reliable platform for a wide range of riding styles across India's varied terrain.

Our Take

Velocity USA has long been trusted by wheel builders who prioritise consistent quality over flashy marketing. The Aileron's disc-specific design means it handles braking forces cleanly — a real advantage on steep descents in the Western Ghats or the winding roads around Ooty and Coorg, where rim brake rims can overheat. The black finish resists the salt and grime of coastal monsoon riding around Mumbai and Chennai better than raw alloy. A solid choice for custom builds at an honest price point.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The Aileron is a 700c rim, the standard road and gravel diameter widely compatible with Indian tyre availability across Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune shops. Check your fork and frame's maximum tyre clearance before purchasing. Disc-specific rims have no brake track, so confirm your hub and caliper setup is fully hydraulic or mechanical disc before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

Designed exclusively for disc brake systems — not suitable for rim brake use. Compatible with standard 700c disc brake hubs laced to your chosen spoke count. Works with tubeless-ready tyres if taped correctly, though verify the rim's tubeless compatibility with your wheel builder before committing. Clean with mild soap and water; avoid aggressive degreasers on the spoke holes.

Pairs Well With

Complete your build with a quality disc brake hub set, stainless or butted spokes, and rim tape suited to your tyre choice. Add a reliable tyre and tube combination or a tubeless valve kit. A spoke tension meter and nipple driver round out a clean custom build.

Explore the full VelocityUSA collection at Cobbled Climbs

Why buy from Cobbled Climbs

100% genuine — authorised VelocityUSA retailer in India

Free delivery on orders above Rs. 2,500

Cash on delivery available nationwide

7-day easy returns

Shipped from Mumbai

Expert advice — our team rides this gear

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0401/9958/5953/files/download_17_0fe53019-2e35-4c78-8dab-da431914aa02.png?v=1791003763
