Description

71805 LLB- ABEC-5 Angular-Contact Bearing (C3 clearance)

Angular-Contact bearing is generally used as a front hub bearing and can be used as a pivot bearing though the MAX-type version of this bearing is better suited for suspension use. This ABEC-5 bearing features deep-groove design races, with Grade 10 balls, and dual-lip labyrinth (LLB) seals to withstand the daily abuse of use and the elements and to contain the 90% fill Mobilux NGLI 2 high-pressure waterproof synthetic grease. When properly installed (black seal facing in) and adjusted, Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings engage all of the bearing's balls to spread the force over a larger surface area, decreasing friction, minimizing wear, and increasing bearing life.

The Enduro line of bearings is available in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. Our bearings are always engineered with the deepest groove races possible to accommodate the largest balls possible and feature dual-lip seals that ride in a micro-groove creating a full labyrinth to provide superior protection against the elements.

ABEC 5 angular contact bearing and double-lip type sealing with light contact, making a labyrinth seal.

In standard radial bearings, only 3 or 4 balls make contact during the load, at any given time. In Angular Contact (A/C) bearings, ALL balls are engaged and spread the force over a larger surface area, to decrease friction and minimize wear.

Features
  • ABEC 5 bearings use grade 5 Chromium Steel Balls and 52100 High Carbon Chromium Alloy Races.
  • The high precision balls are within 5/1.000.000″ round. These are military-level specifications, used for precision equipment. R-64 hardness, of the highest grade.
  • Vacuum de-gassing process for the purest chromium alloy steel, hardened to R-62, extremely tough, and very durable. Polished to a mirror finish for ABEC-5 precision and noiseless movement.
  • Nylon with graphite retainers is virtually frictionless while providing constant lubrication.
  • To meet the ABEC-5 standard, the bearing design must pass all tests, which include noise testing at high RPM, extremely close tolerances for I.D. and O.D., the roundness of the ball, trueness of the races, and micro surface finishes of balls and races.
