1 X Elite Link Shift Housing

Shifting precision on Indian roads — from Pune's monsoon-soaked tarmac to Ooty's winding climbs — depends on housing that holds its shape under pressure and humidity. The Jagwire 1X Elite Link Shift Housing is purpose-built for 1x drivetrain setups, delivering crisp, consistent cable movement where generic housing would flex and fade.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For riders running 1x drivetrains across India's varied terrain — Lonavala's steep pitches, Chennai's flat coastal roads baking at 35°C+, or Delhi's dusty summer routes — this housing earns its place. The link construction resists lateral flex that causes imprecise shifts, and Jagwire's liner quality means cable friction stays low even when grit and humidity work their way into the system. At Rs. 6,300, it is a worthwhile investment in shift quality.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Shift housing is sold by length — cut to your frame's cable routing requirements. Measure existing housing carefully before cutting, and account for full handlebar rotation without pulling cables taut. Riders on larger frames or bikes with internal routing (common on modern Indian-market road and gravel bikes) should order generously. The 1X designation means this is optimised for single-chainring drivetrains only.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for 1x drivetrain systems — not suitable as a direct replacement for 2x or 3x front-shift housing where compression resistance demands differ. Works with standard derailleur cables. Compatible with Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo rear mechs running 1x configurations. Use Jagwire's recommended end caps and ferrules for a secure, rattle-free finish on Indian roads.

Pairs Well With

Complete your cable system with inner shift cables, end caps and ferrule sets, cable cutters for a clean install, and bar tape or cable guides to finish the routing neatly. Browse compatible drivetrain components at Cobbled Climbs for a full 1x upgrade.
