105 Br-r5810 R55c4 Brake Shoes

The Shimano 105 BR-R5810 R55C4 Brake Shoes are replacement rim brake pads designed for the 105-level BR-R5810 dual-pivot caliper. Whether you're navigating Pune's traffic-heavy ring roads, descending the Khandala ghats, or pushing through Chennai's humid summer rides, consistent and predictable rim braking starts with the right pad compound in good condition.

Use Cases

Daily training. Stiff sole and breathable upper for repeated training in Indian heat and humidity.

Race day. Power transfer and snug retention for competitive efforts.

Indoor training. Compatible with indoor trainer cleats for structured Zwift, TrainerRoad, or Wahoo SYSTM workouts.

Our Take

For riders running a 105 rim-brake groupset, keeping fresh R55C4 shoes fitted is one of the highest-value maintenance decisions you can make. On long Western Ghats descents, worn pads introduce fade and unpredictability — exactly the wrong moment for doubt. At Rs. 970 with free delivery above Rs. 2,500, this is an easy, cost-effective way to restore confident stopping power without replacing the full caliper.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The R55C4 shoes are specific to Shimano BR-R5810 and compatible 105-generation rim brake calipers — confirm your caliper model before ordering. These are for alloy-rim use only; do not fit them to carbon rims, which require a dedicated carbon-specific pad compound. No European sizing applies here — compatibility is the only fit consideration.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for Shimano BR-R5810 dual-pivot calipers and compatible with select other Shimano 105-generation rim brakes. For alloy rims only — carbon rims require a different compound entirely. Clean rims regularly, especially after monsoon rides when road grit accelerates wear. Inspect pad surface monthly and replace when grooves become shallow.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake service with fresh brake cables and housing, quality stainless cable end caps, a cable tension tool, and rim-cleaning solvent to remove brake dust and road contamination. A torque wrench is recommended for correct caliper bolt tension during pad installation.
