105 R7000 11 Speed Cassette

The Shimano 105 R7000 11-speed cassette sits at the heart of one of road cycling's most trusted groupsets. Designed for road use and compatible with Shimano's 11-speed drivetrain ecosystem, this cassette delivers the crisp, predictable shifting that makes climbs through Lonavala, Khandala, or the Nilgiris feel controlled and efficient, even in the demanding heat and humidity of Indian conditions.

Use Cases

Climbing setups. Wide-range cassettes for steep Western Ghats, Lavasa, and Nilgiris climbs.

Flat-terrain training. Tight-ratio cassettes for criterium and flat-road training in cities like Chennai and Ahmedabad.

All-rounder. Mid-range cassettes for rides combining flats and climbs.

Our Take

For Indian road cyclists — whether you're grinding the Western Ghats, hammering out training loops around Pune or Hyderabad, or tackling the unpaved stretches that sneak into every Chennai or Kolkata sportive — the 105 R7000 cassette is a genuinely strong choice at this price point. Shimano's 11-speed shifting is refined, consistent under load, and holds up well through monsoon grime and summer dust. At Rs. 4,410, it's one of the most cost-effective performance upgrades available for a road bike.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is not a clothing item, but cassette range selection still matters for Indian terrain. If you're climbing steep gradients in Coorg, Ooty, or Leh, prioritise a wider gear range cassette. For flatter routes around Delhi or Ahmedabad, a tighter range suits higher-cadence riding. Confirm your rear derailleur's maximum sprocket capacity before ordering to ensure compatibility.

Compatibility Notes

The Shimano 105 R7000 cassette is designed specifically for 11-speed drivetrains and requires an 11-speed compatible freehub body. It works with Shimano 105, Ultegra, and Dura-Ace 11-speed derailleurs and shifters. Not compatible with 10-speed or 12-speed setups. Replace your chain simultaneously for best shifting performance and to maximise cassette lifespan in India's wear-accelerating conditions.

Pairs Well With

Complete your drivetrain upgrade with a compatible 11-speed chain, a quality wet-condition lubricant for monsoon riding, a chain wear checker tool to monitor component life, and a cassette lockring tool for home installation and maintenance. All available at Cobbled Climbs.
