Description
The Shimano 105 R7000 11-speed front derailleur brings road-proven shifting precision to riders across India. Whether you're grinding the Ghats above Lonavala, training through Chennai's coastal humidity, or logging pre-dawn kilometres in Pune, a dependable front derailleur is non-negotiable. Clean, confident chain movement between chainrings keeps your cadence steady and your drivetrain wearing evenly over thousands of kilometres.
Use Cases
Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.
Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.
Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.
Our Take
The 105 R7000 sits in the sweet spot for serious Indian road cyclists — precise enough for weekend race efforts, durable enough for daily training in conditions that would shred lesser components. Shimano's 105 groupset has long been the benchmark for value-to-performance in road cycling, and this front derailleur upholds that reputation. For riders building or upgrading an 11-speed road drivetrain, this is a confident, sensible choice that won't demand constant attention through monsoon season.
Sizing for Indian Riders
Front derailleurs are not sized like apparel — compatibility matters more than fit. Confirm your frame's braze-on or clamp fitting, your chainset's bolt circle diameter, and your bottom bracket chainline before ordering. 105 R7000 is an 11-speed road component; it will not work correctly with 10-speed or 12-speed drivetrains. When in doubt, note your existing groupset generation and check Shimano's compatibility chart or contact the Cobbled Climbs team.
Compatibility Notes
Designed for 11-speed road drivetrains, the R7000 front derailleur is compatible with Shimano 105, Tiagra (with caveats), and other 11-speed road groupsets. It uses a braze-on mount. Pair with a matching 11-speed chain and compatible 105 or Ultegra shifters for best performance. Not compatible with Di2 electronic shifting systems. Inspect and replace shift cables and housing during installation for optimal response.
Pairs Well With
Complete your drivetrain upgrade with a matching 11-speed road chain, a compatible rear derailleur from the 105 R7000 family, shift cables and housing suited to Indian dust and monsoon conditions, and a quality chain lubricant — wet lube for the rains, dry or wax-based lube for the dry season.
