202 Firecrest Road RIM Brake Wheelset

The Zipp 202 Firecrest Road RIM Brake Wheelset is a performance-focused carbon wheel system built for riders who want race-ready speed without sacrificing reliability. Whether you're sprinting on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway, grinding up the Western Ghats, or navigating Chennai's varied road surfaces, this wheelset is designed to reward committed road riders at every level. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Dynamic in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

The Zipp 202 Firecrest sits in a sweet spot for Indian road cyclists: shallow enough to stay manageable in crosswinds on exposed Ghat climbs, yet aerodynamically shaped to reward pace on flat expressway stretches. Rim brake compatibility makes it an excellent choice for older high-end frames still worth riding hard. For riders in Pune, Hyderabad, or Delhi seeking a genuine performance upgrade, this is one of the most felt changes you can make to a bike.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit is about frame compatibility, not body size. Confirm your frame uses a quick-release rear axle with 130mm spacing — standard on most rim brake road frames. Verify your brake callipers accept carbon-specific rim brake pads, which are mandatory here. In India's 35°C+ heat, using the correct carbon pad compound is critical to braking performance and rim longevity.

Compatibility Notes

This wheelset is rim brake specific — not compatible with disc brake frames. Requires carbon-compound brake pads; do not use standard alloy pads on the carbon rim surface. Check cassette body compatibility (Shimano HG or equivalent) before ordering. Confirm QR 130mm rear axle spacing with your frame. Tubeless-ready rims require tubeless tyres, valves, and sealant sold separately.

Pairs Well With

Complete your build with a set of high-performance road tyres suited to the rim width, tubeless sealant and valves for puncture protection on rougher Indian roads, carbon-specific rim brake pads for safe stopping power, and a quality torque wrench for correct installation torque on skewers and valve nuts.
