Alpine-29 MTB Tubeless DISC Brake Wheelset

Mountain trails in India demand wheels that can handle everything from the rocky descents of Coorg and Ooty to the monsoon-slicked climbs of Lonavala and Khandala. The Novatec Alpine-29 MTB Tubeless DISC Brake Wheelset is built specifically for 29-inch MTB setups, combining a reliable disc brake interface with tubeless-ready construction for riders who want real trail performance. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Time in India.

Use Cases

Spare on rides. Backup tube to carry on Indian rides where puncture risk is high.

Lightweight setup. TPU tubes for weight-conscious race day or competitive efforts.

Standard fitment. Butyl tubes for daily training and reliable long-term use.

Our Take

For Indian trail riders, this wheelset hits a practical sweet spot. The 6-bolt disc interface is widely supported across MTB rotor brands available here, and tubeless compatibility means you can run lower pressures on technical terrain — a real advantage on Coorg's loose rock and Ooty's rutted paths. At Rs. 80,000, this is a serious upgrade over stock wheels, rewarding riders who spend meaningful time on dirt and gravel beyond city limits.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These are 29-inch wheels suited to modern hardtails and full-suspension frames sized for 29er geometry. Confirm your frame accepts 29-inch wheels, then verify axle standards — front 15x100mm or 20x110mm, rear 12x142mm or 12x148mm Boost are the most common. Check maximum tyre width clearance with your specific frame before ordering. Most Indian MTB frames bought after 2018 will be compatible.

Compatibility Notes

This wheelset uses a 6-bolt disc interface — confirm your rotors match before ordering (Centerlock rotors need an adapter). The tubeless-ready design requires tubeless-compatible tyres, rim tape, sealant, and valves — none of which are included. Cassette body compatibility should be confirmed for your drivetrain: Shimano HG, SRAM XD, or SRAM XDR cassettes each need specific freehub bodies.

Pairs Well With

Complete this setup with quality MTB tubeless tyres sized for 29-inch rims, a tubeless sealant and valve kit, 6-bolt disc rotors compatible with your brake callipers, and MTB-specific bar and grip upgrades for a full trail-ready build.
