Ampp 400s Front Light

The Cateye Ampp 400s is a capable front light designed for cyclists who need reliable visibility across a range of riding conditions. Whether you're navigating early-morning commutes in Delhi's foggy winters, tackling pre-dawn climbs near Lonavala, or threading through Pune's busy evening traffic, a dependable front light is non-negotiable — and the Ampp 400s delivers exactly that at a sensible price point.

Our Take

Cateye has long been the go-to light brand for Indian cyclists, and the Ampp 400s continues that tradition with a practical, no-fuss design. For riders in cities like Hyderabad or Chennai where streetlit roads mix with sudden dark stretches, the multiple output modes give you real flexibility. It's a light that does its job night after night without demanding much in return — a solid pick for commuters and weekend warriors alike.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The Ampp 400s mounts onto your handlebar with Cateye's standard bracket system, which fits most road and MTB bars common on bikes sold in India. No European-to-Indian sizing conversion needed here, but do check your handlebar diameter before ordering. The mount suits both round and compact bar shapes found on popular Indian cycling setups.

Compatibility Notes

The Ampp 400s is USB rechargeable, making it easy to top up via power bank or laptop — handy on multi-day tours through Coorg or Leh where plug points may be scarce. It is compatible with Cateye's FlexTight bracket system. Check that your handlebar diameter matches the included mount. Not designed for dynamo use.

Pairs Well With

Complete your visibility setup with a matching rear light, a quality cycling computer for night-ride data tracking, and a reflective gilet or vest for added road presence. A handlebar bag can also complement this light's compact footprint on longer rides.
