Ampp 500s Front Light

Riding before sunrise through Pune's outskirts or navigating Chennai's pre-dawn traffic demands a front light you can count on. The Cateye Ampp 500s Front Light is built for exactly these conditions — delivering strong output to illuminate your path and make you unmistakably visible to other road users, whether you're commuting daily or pushing early-morning training miles. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Time in India.

Use Cases

Commuting. Visibility for early-morning and evening rides through Indian traffic.

Night training. High-output beam for night rides on unlit Indian roads.

Group rides. See-and-be-seen lighting for low-visibility conditions.

Our Take

For Indian riders dealing with unlit roads, erratic traffic, and monsoon gloom, the Cateye Ampp 500s punches well above its price point. At Rs. 3,690, it offers a dependable front lighting solution with USB charging convenience — practical for daily commuters in Delhi or Hyderabad and equally capable on pre-dawn climbs toward Lonavala or Khandala. Cateye's mount system is time-tested and secure enough for India's rough road surfaces.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Lights are one-size-fit-most, but handlebar compatibility matters. The Cateye Ampp 500s uses Cateye's standard FlexTight mount, which suits common handlebar diameters found on road and MTB bikes in India. If you run oversized or aero-profile bars, confirm compatibility before ordering. Heat above 35°C is standard across Indian summers — store the light out of direct sunlight when not in use to protect battery health.

Compatibility Notes

The Ampp 500s mounts to standard round handlebars and is USB rechargeable, meaning no proprietary chargers to track down. It pairs with Cateye's rear light range for a complete visibility setup. Water resistance makes it suited to monsoon riding — rinse and dry after wet rides, and avoid submerging the unit. All Cateye products at Cobbled Climbs are 100% genuine and authorised.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with a Cateye rear light for full visibility, a quality helmet for added safety, a cycling computer or GPS unit for the handlebar, and a handlebar bag or top-tube bag if you're touring or bikepacking through Coorg or Ooty.
