Ampp 800 Front Light

Riding before sunrise on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway or navigating Chennai's pre-dawn traffic demands a front light you can trust without second-guessing. The Cateye Ampp 800 Front Light delivers high-output illumination across multiple modes, giving riders genuine road visibility and strong presence in low-light or haze conditions common across Indian cities and highways.

Use Cases

Commuting. Visibility for early-morning and evening rides through Indian traffic.

Night training. High-output beam for night rides on unlit Indian roads.

Group rides. See-and-be-seen lighting for low-visibility conditions.

Our Take

The Cateye Ampp 800 is a well-considered choice for Indian riders who venture out before dawn or push into the evening. Whether you're grinding up Lonavala in the early hours or commuting through Hyderabad's heavy traffic, the Ampp 800's output handles both seeing the road ahead and making yourself visible to vehicles. Mount security and USB rechargeability make it practical for daily use across varying Indian road surfaces.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a lighting unit, not a sized garment — fit relates to handlebar compatibility rather than body dimensions. The Cateye mount system accommodates standard handlebar diameters, but if your bike runs an aero or non-round profile bar (common on newer road and triathlon bikes), confirm adapter availability before ordering. Contact Cobbled Climbs if you need guidance on mount compatibility for your specific setup.

Compatibility Notes

The Cateye Ampp 800 uses Cateye's proprietary FlexTight mount, which fits standard round handlebars. It charges via USB, compatible with most power banks and wall adapters available in India. Pair with Cateye's rear light range for a matched system. Store away from prolonged direct heat — dashboard storage in Indian summers can degrade battery cells.

Pairs Well With

Complete your visibility setup with a matched Cateye rear light, a secondary helmet-mount light for trail or ghat riding, a handlebar bag or cycling computer mount that doesn't conflict with the light position, and a high-capacity USB power bank for multi-day touring or bikepacking through Coorg or Leh.
