Antares Roller Bicycle Trainer

The Tacx Antares is a roller-style bicycle trainer that puts your actual rear wheel in contact with three spinning drums, keeping your bike's handling feel alive while you train indoors. For riders in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, or Chennai who lose weeks of outdoor riding to monsoon rains or brutal summer heat, a quality roller trainer bridges the fitness gap without requiring a dedicated training space.

Use Cases

Indoor training. Structured workouts via Zwift, TrainerRoad, or Wahoo SYSTM.

Race day prep. Smart-trainer simulation of race-day power demands.

Year-round training. Indoor riding through Indian monsoon, peak heat, and pollution-heavy days.

Our Take

Rollers demand more from a rider than a fixed turbo — you steer, balance, and pedal simultaneously, which builds smooth pedal stroke and core stability that translates directly to real roads. For Indian riders tackling the Western Ghats or the Ooty climbs, that technique work pays off. The Antares keeps things accessible at its price point while staying true to the roller training format that coaches have recommended for decades.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The Antares accommodates most standard road and hybrid wheel sizes — verify your wheel diameter before ordering. Roller drum spacing is typically adjustable for different wheelbases, so most adult bikes fit. In high-humidity Indian conditions, keep the drums clean and dry after each session to maintain grip and prevent deterioration of the roller surface.

Compatibility Notes

Roller trainers work with your existing wheel and tyre — no separate cassette required. Check that your tyre width falls within the Antares drum width specification. Avoid overly knobby tyres; smooth or semi-slick road tyres work best. Regular wiping of drums after sweaty sessions is essential in India's humid climate.

Pairs Well With

Complete your indoor training setup with a high-quality training mat to protect floors and dampen vibration, a powerful desk or standing fan for airflow during 35°C+ sessions, a sweat guard or frame protector, and a cycling cadence or speed sensor if you want basic app connectivity.
