Ao Rear Derailleur Hanger

A derailleur hanger is the unsung hero of your drivetrain — the sacrificial component designed to bend or break before your derailleur does. The Chapter 2 Ao Rear Derailleur Hanger is precision-engineered to fit Chapter 2's Ao frameset, keeping your shifting crisp whether you're grinding the Western Ghats or navigating Pune's potholed arterials.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Carrying a spare derailleur hanger is one of the smartest moves any Chapter 2 Ao owner can make — especially in India, where rough road surfaces, speed bumps, and tight urban traffic increase the risk of a knock or tip-over. This is a frame-specific part with no universal substitute. At Rs. 2,350 with free delivery above Rs. 2,500, bundling it with another small part makes good sense. Keep one in your saddle bag on longer rides through Lonavala or Coorg.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This hanger is frame-specific to the Chapter 2 Ao model — not a universal fit. Before ordering, confirm your frame is the Ao and not another Chapter 2 model such as the Tere or Rere, which use different hangers. No sizing in the traditional clothing sense applies here, but getting the exact match is critical. Incorrect hangers cause misalignment and poor shifting.

Compatibility Notes

Designed exclusively for the Chapter 2 Ao frame. Compatible with the derailleur standards supported by that frame, including modern road groupsets. If you run an electronic drivetrain, confirm the hanger's thread and alignment with your rear derailleur mounting. Inspect the hanger after any crash or tip-over — even minor impacts can introduce subtle bends that affect shift quality.

Pairs Well With

Keep your drivetrain protected and your bike ready to roll by pairing this hanger with a chain lubricant suited to Indian monsoon conditions, a compact multi-tool with a chain breaker, a torque key for correct installation, and a derailleur alignment tool for post-crash checks.
