Base Layer Compression Shorts

The 2XU Base Layer Compression Shorts are built for athletes who train hard across disciplines — cycling, running, and triathlon. Designed with compressive synthetic fabric, moisture management, and a body-contouring fit, these shorts are well-suited to the demands of Indian heat, whether you're grinding up the Western Ghats or logging pre-dawn kilometres around Hyderabad's Hussain Sagar.

Use Cases

Daily training. Padded chamois and supportive bib straps for repeated 2-3 hour training rides in Indian conditions.

Race day. Race-fit compression and aerodynamic cut for timed events and group rides.

Long endurance rides. Premium chamois and durable Lycra for full-day comfort on rides exceeding four hours.

Our Take

For Indian riders and triathletes training in 35°C+ conditions across Pune, Chennai, or Ahmedabad, the 2XU Base Layer Compression Shorts offer genuine performance value. The compressive fit reduces muscle fatigue on longer efforts, while the moisture-wicking fabric stays manageable even in peak summer humidity. At this price point, it's a credible base layer choice for serious multi-sport athletes who want functional compression without paying flagship prices.

Sizing for Indian Riders

2XU uses European race-fit sizing, which tends to run slim through the thighs. Indian riders with more muscular legs relative to waist measurement should size up. Compression should feel firm but not circulatory — if it restricts movement at the hip, go larger. Mid-rise waist suits most torso lengths well. Check the 2XU size chart against your thigh and waist measurements before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

Suitable for cycling, running, and triathlon use. Wear directly against skin — no underwear. Machine wash at 30°C with mild detergent and hang dry to preserve compression fabric and elasticity. Synthetic fabric dries quickly, making it practical for back-to-back training days common during monsoon indoor sessions or early-morning doubles.

Pairs Well With

Complete your training kit with a breathable moisture-wicking training jersey or tri top, a supportive tri-specific saddle, quality compression socks for post-ride recovery, and chamois cream for rides or runs exceeding an hour in Indian summer heat.
