Big Nine 3000

The Merida Big Nine 3000 is a serious hardtail mountain bike built for riders who want performance on technical trails, rocky singletracks, and the kind of unpredictable surfaces you encounter everywhere from Pune's outskirts to the forest roads around Coorg and Ooty. This is not a casual city commuter — it is a complete, purpose-built MTB platform designed to perform.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

At Rs. 1,49,990, the Big Nine 3000 sits firmly in the enthusiast-grade hardtail segment. For Indian riders tackling the Western Ghats, trails near Lonavala and Khandala, or the gravel-dirt mix outside Hyderabad and Delhi, this bike's aluminum and carbon construction delivers the stiffness and composure you need. The heavy-duty brakes are particularly reassuring on steep descents in wet conditions — a real advantage during the monsoon months.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Merida sizing follows European standards, so take your inseam and height measurements carefully before ordering. Indian riders tend to have shorter torsos relative to leg length — if you are between sizes, consider the smaller frame for better control on technical MTB terrain. A professional bike fit is strongly recommended after purchase to fine-tune saddle height and reach for the heat and effort of Indian trail riding.

Compatibility Notes

The Big Nine 3000 ships as a complete bicycle with all specified drivetrain and brake components fitted. Pedals are not included — choose a pedal system compatible with your MTB shoes (flat platform or 2-bolt SPD). First-service inspection is advised after the initial 100km of riding. Annual servicing maintains component performance and frame warranty validity.

Pairs Well With

Complete your trail setup with a quality MTB helmet, clipless or flat MTB pedals, trail-specific cycling shorts with padding, a hydration pack for longer rides, and tubeless tyre sealant if you plan to convert the wheelset for Indian rocky trails.
