Big Seven 300

The Merida Big Seven 300 is a hardtail mountain bike built for riders who want capable, trail-ready performance without compromise. Designed for the mountain discipline, it brings together a purpose-engineered frame and a complete component build — ready to take on everything from loose Coorg forest tracks to the rocky switchbacks above Ooty and Lonavala's punishing climbs.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

At Rs. 74,990, the Big Seven 300 sits in a serious sweet spot for Indian mountain bikers who want genuine trail capability. Hardtail MTBs reward technical pedalling efficiency, and on India's mixed-surface trails — from Pune's Sinhagad approaches to the Shillong plateau — this bike's geometry and build quality make a strong case. Selected for Indian conditions based on component specification and frame engineering from a brand with deep MTB credentials.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Merida uses seat tube length or S/M/L sizing for the Big Seven range. Indian riders typically have shorter torsos relative to leg length compared to European averages, so measure both inseam and total height before consulting Merida's geometry chart. If between sizes, size down for aggressive trail riding, size up for all-day comfort touring. A professional bike fit is strongly recommended after purchase.

Compatibility Notes

The Big Seven 300 ships as a complete, ready-to-ride build. Pedals are not included — select flat or clipless pedals compatible with your preferred system. First-service inspection is advised after the first 100 km of riding. Disc brakes are standard on this platform, ensuring reliable stopping in monsoon conditions and on wet Western Ghats descents. Annual servicing keeps the warranty valid.

Pairs Well With

Complete your mountain bike setup with a trail-rated helmet, MTB clipless or flat pedals matched to your shoes, a hydration pack for longer Deccan plateau rides, and a quality MTB-specific tyre inflator or tubeless kit for remote trail puncture management.
