Big Seven 60 Mountain Bike

The Merida Big Seven 60 is a hardtail mountain bike built for riders who want capable off-road performance without stepping into the premium segment. Designed around Merida's proven trail geometry, it suits everything from weekend singletrack in the Western Ghats to dusty forest roads outside Pune, Hyderabad, or Coorg — all at a price that makes serious mountain biking genuinely accessible in India.

Use Cases

Race day. Race geometry and pro-level component spec for competitive efforts.

Daily training. Endurance geometry and comfort for repeat training rides.

All-road and gravel. Versatile platform for road, gravel, and bikepacking in India.

Our Take

At Rs. 48,591, the Big Seven 60 sits in a compelling spot for Indian MTB riders entering or progressing the sport. The 27.5-inch wheel format handles India's broken trail surfaces and sudden gradient changes well, whether you're on the rocky ascents near Lonavala or the red-dirt trails around Bangalore. Merida's frame engineering at this price point is honest and durable — this is a bike that rewards consistent riding rather than sitting in a corner.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Merida mountain bikes use S/M/L/XL sizing referenced against rider height and inseam. Indian riders tend to have shorter torso-to-leg ratios than the European sizing baseline, so if you're between sizes, consider sizing down for better reach control on technical descents. In 35°C+ heat, a marginally shorter reach reduces upper-body fatigue on longer Coorg or Ooty trail days. A professional bike fit is strongly recommended after purchase.

Compatibility Notes

The Big Seven 60 ships as a complete, ready-to-ride mountain bike. Pedals are not included — choose flat platform pedals for trail riding or SPD clipless pedals matched to your MTB shoes. The drivetrain and brake standards are current MTB spec; aftermarket upgrades are straightforward. First-service inspection after the initial 100km is recommended to check cable tension and bolt torque.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with a quality MTB helmet with MIPS protection, trail-specific MTB shoes, a hydration pack for longer Ghats rides, and a floor pump with a pressure gauge for maintaining tyre pressure on varying terrain. Protective gloves and knee guards are worth adding for technical trail riding.
