Bladed Spoke Catcher - Blister Card

Building and maintaining wheels requires the right tools, and the IceToolz Bladed Spoke Catcher makes a frustrating task straightforward. Bladed or aero spokes rotate freely when tensioning, making truing nearly impossible without a catcher to hold them in place. This compact tool solves that problem cleanly, at a price that makes sense for any serious home mechanic. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Time in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For Indian cyclists running aero wheels — increasingly popular on the smooth stretches of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway or Chennai's ECR — maintaining spoke tension is essential. The IceToolz Bladed Spoke Catcher is an honest, no-fuss tool that belongs in every home workshop. At Rs. 390, it costs far less than a single spoke replacement job at a bike shop, and it pays for itself the first time you true a bladed-spoke wheel correctly.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a hand tool, not a sized product — one fits all. The catcher grips the flat face of bladed spokes to prevent rotation during tensioning. If you are unsure whether your spokes are bladed or round, check the spoke cross-section near the hub flange. Bladed spokes have a flattened, oval profile; round spokes do not need a catcher.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with standard bladed or aero spokes commonly found on performance road and gravel wheelsets. Works alongside any spoke nipple wrench or wheel truing stand. Not required for round-profile spokes. Store away from moisture — particularly relevant during Mumbai and Kolkata monsoon months — to prevent surface oxidation on the tool body.

Pairs Well With

Round out your wheel-building and maintenance kit with a quality spoke nipple wrench, a reliable wheel truing stand, a tension meter for accurate spoke tensioning, and spoke prep or thread lubricant for long-lasting builds. These essentials ensure your bladed-spoke wheels stay true across every Indian road surface.
