CH1-R Headset, Spacers, Expander

The ITM CH1-R Headset, Spacers, and Expander is a complete steering interface solution built for road cyclists who want reliable, precise handling without unnecessary fuss. Whether you are setting up a new build or refreshing a tired front end, this kit provides everything needed to get your fork seated correctly and your stem height dialled in from the first ride.

Our Take

India's roads demand components that can handle more than smooth tarmac. From the broken surfaces around Pune's outskirts to the steep switchbacks above Ooty, your headset takes constant vibration and load. The ITM CH1-R delivers a confident, chatter-free steering feel that suits long days in the saddle. For riders building a dedicated road bike or refreshing a worn setup, this is a practical, well-priced choice that punches above its Rs. 2,999 price point.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The CH1-R is designed for standard 1-1/8 inch threadless forks, which cover the vast majority of road bikes sold in India. Spacer stack height is adjustable, which is particularly useful for Indian riders who tend to prefer slightly higher handlebar positions to cope with long climbs and fatigue on roads like Lonavala or Khandala. Always verify your steerer tube diameter before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

This headset is intended for 1-1/8 inch threadless steerer tubes. The included expander plug is designed for carbon or alloy steerers. It is compatible with standard ahead stems. Clean and re-grease the bearing cups annually or after heavy monsoon exposure to prevent corrosion and maintain smooth steering action.

Pairs Well With

Complete your front-end build by pairing the CH1-R with a quality road stem, lightweight alloy or carbon handlebars, and bar tape suited to hot and humid conditions. A quality torque wrench is strongly recommended for safe carbon steerer installation.
