Cog Brush

India's roads demand consistent drivetrain care. Between the dust of Delhi winters, the relentless humidity of Chennai summers, and the monsoon mud that clings to every cog on Lonavala climbs, a dedicated cog brush is one of the most practical tools a cyclist can own. The Effetto Mariposa Cog Brush is purpose-built for exactly this kind of detail cleaning — getting into the spaces that cloths and general brushes simply cannot reach.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Most Indian riders underestimate how quickly road grime and monsoon mud pack between cassette cogs, accelerating wear on chains and sprockets alike. The Effetto Mariposa Cog Brush is designed for that specific job — clearing debris from tight cog spacing without bending bristles or damaging teeth. At Rs. 875, it costs far less than a single cassette replacement. If you're riding the Western Ghats or commuting through Pune's dusty outskirts, this belongs in your maintenance kit.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a cleaning brush, so fit in the traditional sense does not apply. The brush is designed to work across a wide range of cassette and sprocket sizes common on road and MTB drivetrains. No sizing selection is needed at checkout — simply choose your quantity. Contact Cobbled Climbs if you need guidance on pairing it with compatible Effetto Mariposa cleaners for your specific drivetrain setup.

Compatibility Notes

The Cog Brush is suitable for use across standard road and mountain bike cassettes, single-speed sprockets, and chainrings. It works alongside Effetto Mariposa's degreaser and cleaning product range. Safe for alloy and steel cogs — verify suitability for coated or ceramic-finished sprockets before use. All Effetto Mariposa products at Cobbled Climbs are 100% genuine and authorised.

Pairs Well With

Complete your drivetrain cleaning setup with a quality chain degreaser, a chain cleaning device for thorough flushes, a chain lubricant suited to wet or dry Indian conditions, and a drip tray or bike stand for mess-free maintenance sessions at home.
