Cosmic BOA SPD Shoes

The Mavic Cosmic BOA SPD Shoes bring together a stiff sole for efficient power transfer, a BOA dial closure for precise micro-adjustability, and a breathable synthetic upper built to cope with India's demanding heat. Whether you're grinding the Ghats above Lonavala, commuting in Pune, or training through Chennai's coastal humidity, these shoes are engineered for sustained performance in real Indian conditions.

Use Cases

Daily training. Stiff sole and breathable upper for repeated training in Indian heat and humidity.

Race day. Power transfer and snug retention for competitive efforts.

Indoor training. Compatible with indoor trainer cleats for structured Zwift, TrainerRoad, or Wahoo SYSTM workouts.

Our Take

The Cosmic BOA SPD is a smart all-rounder for Indian riders who want performance without sacrificing walkability — the SPD 2-bolt cleat system means you can clip out at a chai stop or navigate rough terrain at Coorg without shuffling awkwardly. The BOA dial offers on-the-fly fit adjustment, which is genuinely useful when feet swell during long efforts in 35°C+ heat. Ventilation is adequate, and the lightweight synthetic construction keeps things practical for daily training use.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Mavic shoes generally run true to EU sizing, but Indian riders with wider forefeet — common across many regional foot shapes — should consider going half a size up. Always try with your actual cycling socks. If your heel lifts during pedalling, the shoe is too large; toe pinching means too small. Third-party insoles can fine-tune volume and arch support for a more personalised fit.

Compatibility Notes

These shoes are designed for 2-bolt SPD cleats — compatible with Shimano SPD pedals widely used in India for touring, commuting, and off-road riding. Cleats are sold separately; confirm your pedal system before ordering. The BOA dial closure is user-replaceable if damaged. Synthetic upper materials can be wiped clean after monsoon rides — avoid submerging and allow to air-dry fully.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with Shimano SPD pedals for a reliable clipless system, performance cycling socks that wick sweat during summer rides, neoprene shoe covers for monsoon commutes in Mumbai or Kolkata, and a pair of quality bib shorts for longer training days in the saddle.
