Cosmic SL 45 DISC Wheelset

The Mavic Cosmic SL 45 DISC Wheelset is built for riders who demand aero performance without sacrificing disc-brake reliability. With a 45mm rim depth, it strikes a balance between crosswind stability and outright speed — a combination particularly suited to India's mix of smooth expressway stretches, technical Ghat climbs, and unpredictable road surfaces that shift between monsoon-damaged patches and freshly laid tarmac in the same ride.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

At Rs. 1,35,000, the Cosmic SL 45 DISC is a serious performance investment — and it earns that position. For riders pushing tempo on Pune's Sinhagad climb, chasing speed on the Hyderabad–Bidar highway, or riding the Coorg coffee estate roads, a 45mm disc wheel offers real aerodynamic return above 30km/h while disc braking keeps descents predictable when tarmac turns wet. Mavic's factory build quality means consistent spoke tension straight out of the box.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit depends entirely on three compatibility checks: your frame's axle standard (thru-axle dimensions vary), brake interface (Centerlock or 6-bolt disc), and cassette body type (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo). In India's heat — regularly above 35°C in Chennai and Ahmedabad — disc brakes perform far more consistently than rim brakes on long descents. Confirm all three before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

The Cosmic SL 45 DISC is designed for disc-brake frames only. Confirm your axle standard, rotor interface, and cassette body before purchase. The rim is tubeless-ready; full tubeless setup requires compatible tyres, valves, and sealant sold separately. Check Mavic's published service intervals for bearing maintenance to keep rolling resistance low.

Pairs Well With

Complete your wheel upgrade with a set of high-performance road tyres matched to the rim's internal width, quality tubeless sealant and valve stems, disc rotors in your preferred interface standard, and a calibrated torque wrench for correct thru-axle installation.
