Crane MIPS Road Cycliing Helmet

Riding in Indian summer heat demands a helmet that keeps you cool without compromising safety. The POC Crane MIPS Road Cycling Helmet combines certified impact protection with a ventilation system designed for sustained efforts in 35°C+ conditions, whether you're climbing the Western Ghats above Lonavala or grinding through Pune's early-morning training routes. Cobbled Climbs is the exclusive Indian distributor for Lightweight in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

POC's MIPS integration addresses rotational impact forces — a meaningful safety step forward from standard single-liner designs. For Indian riders tackling rough tarmac in Chennai or Delhi's summer heat, the combination of a well-ventilated shell and MIPS protection makes the Crane a considered choice at Rs. 8,500. The adjustable retention system accommodates the variation in head shapes common across Indian riders, and the lightweight construction means it won't add fatigue on longer climbs.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Measure your head circumference at the forehead, just above the eyebrows. POC's general guide runs S=51–55cm, M=55–59cm, L=59–63cm — but always cross-check POC's own size chart, as Indian head shapes can differ from European averages. The helmet should sit level, one finger above the eyebrows, with strap tension forming a V under each ear. In high-humidity conditions common in Mumbai and Kolkata, a secure but breathable fit is essential.

Compatibility Notes

Certified to international safety standards — verify the specific certification (EN 1078, CPSC, or equivalent) for your riding context. MIPS is compatible with all standard road cycling disciplines. Works with most cycling sunglasses; check temple-arm clearance at the retention system. Replace this helmet immediately after any significant impact, regardless of visible external damage. UV exposure during Indian rides accelerates foam degradation — replace every five years.

Pairs Well With

Complete your safety and comfort setup with cycling sunglasses that offer UV400 protection for Indian sun, a lightweight moisture-wicking cycling cap worn underneath, a high-visibility rear light for low-light commutes, and a pair of road cycling shoes matched to your pedal system.
