Dctech Bb86-92 Ceramic Shimano Bottom Bracket

The Bikone Dctech BB86-92 Ceramic Shimano Bottom Bracket is a precision-engineered press-fit component built for riders who refuse to compromise on drivetrain efficiency. Fitted with ceramic bearings and compatible with Shimano cranksets, it suits road and mountain bikes running the BB86/BB92 press-fit shell standard — a common spec across mid-to-high-end builds in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable construction for repeat use.

Race day. Lightweight, stiff design for power transfer and aerodynamics.

Fit adjustment. Right stem length critical for comfortable bike fit.

Our Take

India's roads demand more from a bottom bracket than smooth tarmac ever does. Dust on the Pune-Lonavala climb, monsoon grit through Chennai's coastal routes, and the relentless heat beating down on Delhi training rides all push steel bearings toward premature wear. Bikone's ceramic bearing option spins with noticeably less friction and sheds water and contamination more effectively — making it a worthwhile upgrade for any serious road or trail rider logging consistent kilometres.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a BB86/BB92 press-fit bottom bracket, not a threaded unit. Confirm your frame's shell width before ordering — BB86 shells measure 86.5mm (road) and BB92 measures 89.5–92mm (MTB). It is engineered for Shimano crankset spindle dimensions. If your frame runs a threaded BSA or Italian thread shell, this is not the correct bracket — verify your frame spec first.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with BB86 and BB92 press-fit frame shells and Shimano cranksets across 10, 11, and 12-speed groupsets on both road and mountain platforms. Professional installation is strongly recommended — press-fit bearings require a bearing press tool for correct seating. Improper installation voids bearing performance and can damage the frame shell. Annual inspection is advisable in high-humidity or monsoon-heavy riding environments.

Pairs Well With

Complete your drivetrain refresh by pairing this bottom bracket with a Shimano-compatible crankset, a quality chain suited to your groupset speed, a wet-condition chain lubricant for monsoon riding, and a chain wear checker for routine maintenance. Browse all categories at Cobbled Climbs.
