Description

The Bikone Dctech BSA Shimano Bottom Bracket is a precision-engineered drivetrain component built for road cyclists who demand consistent performance through India's demanding riding calendar — from Pune's monsoon-soaked roads to the punishing climbs of Lonavala, Khandala, and Ooty where drivetrain reliability is non-negotiable.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable construction for repeat use.

Race day. Lightweight, stiff design for power transfer and aerodynamics.

Fit adjustment. Right stem length critical for comfortable bike fit.

Our Take

For Indian road riders, the bottom bracket is the most overlooked yet most punished component on the bike. Dust from Delhi's dry season and Mumbai's monsoon humidity both accelerate bearing wear. The Bikone Dctech BSA Shimano Bottom Bracket uses a standard threaded BSA shell — the most serviceable format available — keeping you on the road rather than in the workshop. At Rs. 20,000, this is a serious investment in long-term drivetrain health.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Bottom brackets do not use clothing sizes, but compatibility is everything. BSA threading is the global standard and fits most road frames sold in India. Confirm your frame's shell threading (BSA/English), shell width, and spindle interface before ordering. If buying your first replacement, photograph your existing BB and share it with Cobbled Climbs' team for confirmation.

Compatibility Notes

This bottom bracket is designed for BSA-threaded frames and is compatible with Shimano cranksets. Confirm shell width (typically 68mm or 70mm on Indian road frames) and spindle interface before purchase. Metal construction handles heat and humidity well; clean and inspect bearings after extended monsoon riding for best service life.

Pairs Well With

Complete your drivetrain service with a quality Shimano-compatible crankset, a precision torque wrench for correct BB installation, a suitable wet or dry chain lubricant for Indian conditions, and a chain wear indicator to track drivetrain health between services.

Fitting

Bottom brackets are sized by shell threading standard, shell width, and spindle interface — not by rider size. BSA threading (English standard) is the most common format on road bikes sold in India. Most road frames use a 68mm shell width; some older or Italian-standard frames differ. Confirm all three parameters against your frame's specification or existing bottom bracket before purchasing. When in doubt, consult a qualified mechanic or contact Cobbled Climbs for guidance.
