DISC Brake Pad - Lyra W/ Return Spring

The Tektro DISC Brake Pad - Lyra W/ Return Spring is a precision disc brake pad designed for cyclists who demand consistent stopping power across varied conditions. Whether you're navigating monsoon-slicked roads in Pune, tackling long Ghat descents, or threading through city traffic in Chennai, reliable braking is non-negotiable. The integrated return spring ensures clean pad retraction and reduces drag between stops.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

At Rs. 449, this is one of the most sensible maintenance purchases a disc brake cyclist can make. Indian conditions — summer heat above 35°C in Hyderabad, monsoon downpours in Mumbai, and the relentless braking demands of Lonavala or Khandala descents — accelerate pad wear faster than most riders expect. The Lyra pad's return spring design keeps the pad pulled cleanly off the rotor, reducing that subtle but cumulative drag that dulls a ride over time.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a component fit, not a body fit — confirm your Tektro caliper model accepts the Lyra pad format before ordering. Indian riders on entry-to-mid-level disc bikes will frequently find Tektro calipers as original equipment. Check your caliper model number against Tektro's compatibility chart, and verify rotor diameter (typically 140mm or 160mm) matches your frame and fork specifications.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for Tektro Lyra disc brake calipers. The return spring is integral to the pad cartridge — do not attempt to fit this pad in calipers that use spring-free or differently sprung pad designs. Confirm post-mount or flat-mount caliper type matches your frame. Clean rotors with isopropyl alcohol before fitting new pads, and bed in properly on a quiet road before committing to hard braking.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake service with compatible Tektro disc rotors, hydraulic brake bleed kits, rotor alignment tools, and isopropyl alcohol cleaner for rotor preparation. A torque wrench is strongly recommended for caliper bolts to manufacturer spec.
