DISC Brake Pads - Organic (hk-vx007-diy)

Organic disc brake pads offer progressive modulation and quieter operation compared to sintered alternatives — qualities that matter when you're navigating chaotic city traffic in Pune or Hyderabad, or feathering your brakes through a slick monsoon descent on the Western Ghats. The Alligator DISC Brake Pads in organic compound are a practical, affordable upgrade for riders who want reliable stopping confidence at Rs. 460.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Organic compound pads bite progressively rather than grabbing — a real advantage on technical descents around Lonavala or Khandala where feel and control matter as much as outright power. In India's heat and stop-start city riding, they run quieter and are gentler on rotors than sintered pads. They do wear faster in heavy monsoon conditions, so carry a spare set if you ride through July and August regularly.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a brake pad, not an apparel item, so fit means caliper compatibility rather than body sizing. Confirm your caliper model and rotor diameter — typically 140mm, 160mm, or 180mm — before ordering. The SKU hk-vx007-diy is specific to a defined range of calipers; check Alligator's compatibility chart or contact Cobbled Climbs if you are unsure.

Compatibility Notes

Organic compound pads work best with standard stainless steel rotors. Do not use on carbon rotors. Confirm flat-mount or post-mount caliper type and rotor diameter match your frame and fork specs. Clean rotors with isopropyl alcohol before installation. Avoid contamination with chain lube or any oil — a contaminated organic pad cannot be recovered and must be replaced.

Pairs Well With

Consider pairing with a compatible disc rotor in your required diameter, a hydraulic bleed kit if your system needs servicing, brake caliper mounting bolts (replace if corroded by monsoon exposure), and a torque wrench to ensure correct pad and caliper installation.
