DISC Brake Pads - Organic (hk-vx039-diy)

Organic disc brake pads from Alligator offer progressive modulation and quiet operation suited to everyday road and gravel riding in India. Whether you're navigating Pune's monsoon-slicked streets, descending the Western Ghats towards Lonavala, or commuting through Chennai's humid corridors, consistent stopping power is non-negotiable. The Alligator DISC Brake Pads (hk-vx039-diy) are a practical, budget-friendly upgrade for riders who want reliable braking without the noise of metallic compounds.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Organic pads strike the right balance for Indian riding conditions — quieter than sintered alternatives, gentler on rotors, and offering good initial bite in the wet. On shorter Ghat descents around Khandala or Coorg, they perform confidently. In sustained high-heat braking — think loaded touring or long Ooty switchbacks — organic compounds fade faster than sintered, so heavy descenders should factor that in. For daily training and recreational riding, these represent strong value at Rs. 590.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These are not sized by rider body measurements — compatibility is determined by your brake caliper model. Before ordering, check your caliper brand and model against Alligator's compatibility list. Organic pads are caliper-specific, not universal. If you ride in high-humidity coastal cities like Mumbai, Kochi, or Kolkata, inspect pads more frequently as moisture accelerates compound wear.

Compatibility Notes

Confirm your caliper accepts Alligator hk-vx039 pad shape before purchasing. Organic compounds pair best with clean steel or aluminium rotors — do not use with carbon-surface rotors. Keep pads free of chain lube and tyre sealant contamination, which causes glazing and dramatically reduces braking power. If switching from sintered to organic, bed in the new pads properly with ten progressive stops from moderate speed before hard braking.

Pairs Well With

For a complete brake system refresh, consider pairing these pads with a compatible disc rotor (140mm or 160mm), a rotor truing tool for post-monsoon maintenance, hydraulic brake bleed kit if your system is hydraulic, and a torque wrench for safe caliper bolt tightening.
