DISC Brake Pads - Organic (hk-vx042-diy)

Wet monsoon roads and steep Ghat descents demand consistent, reliable braking. The Alligator DISC Brake Pads in organic compound are designed for cyclists who ride through India's varied conditions — from Pune's rain-soaked climbs to Chennai's humid coastal routes — where confident modulation and heat management are non-negotiable.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Organic compound pads are an excellent choice for Indian riding conditions, offering progressively smooth modulation and quieter operation compared to sintered alternatives. They perform particularly well on technical descents around Lonavala and Khandala, where controlled braking matters more than outright power. At Rs. 460, these represent genuine value for everyday training riders seeking dependable disc brake performance without spending on premium metallic pads.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These pads are not sized by rider weight but by caliper compatibility. Before ordering, confirm your brake caliper model and mount type — post-mount or flat-mount. Check that your rotor diameter (140mm, 160mm, or 180mm) matches what your frame and fork specify. Organic compounds suit most alloy rotors commonly found on entry-to-mid-level bikes popular across Delhi, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.

Compatibility Notes

These organic pads must be matched to a compatible Alligator caliper or equivalent fitment. Organic compound is suitable for alloy rotors but should not be used on carbon rotors. Avoid cross-contamination with oil or brake fluid during installation. In high-heat conditions above 35°C, organic pads may wear faster than sintered alternatives — inspect regularly if riding long Ghat descents frequently.

Pairs Well With

Complete your braking setup with compatible disc rotors in the correct diameter for your frame, hydraulic brake fluid or mineral oil for system maintenance, a caliper alignment tool for precise pad clearance, and a torque wrench for safe caliper bolt installation.
