DISC Lockring Tool

A disc lockring tool is a workshop essential for any cyclist running disc brakes — and in India, where dusty Pune roads, monsoon-soaked Mumbai streets, and long Coorg or Ooty descents put real stress on drivetrain and braking components, having the right tool for proper lockring installation and removal makes a genuine difference to maintenance quality and long-term safety. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Icetoolz in India.

Use Cases

Workshop use. Reliable tool for home or workshop bike maintenance.

On-the-road repairs. Compact construction for carrying on Indian rides.

Drivetrain service. Specific tool for chain, cassette, or bottom bracket maintenance.

Our Take

The IceToolz DISC Lockring Tool is a practical, no-nonsense workshop addition for Indian riders who maintain their own disc brake setups. Whether you're swapping cassettes after a gritty Western Ghats ride or torquing a new rotor lockring correctly before a Leh trip, precision tooling prevents stripped threads and misaligned components. At Rs. 2,590, it's a sensible investment compared to workshop labour costs over a season.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a tool, not a garment — sizing in the traditional sense does not apply. What matters is confirming your disc lockring interface: check whether your hub uses a standard splined lockring or a different engagement standard before ordering. Most modern disc hubs across Shimano and compatible systems use a common interface, but verify with your hub manufacturer's documentation first.

Compatibility Notes

Confirm your hub's lockring interface standard before use. Works with common disc brake lockring formats found on Shimano-compatible hubs. Use with a calibrated torque wrench to meet manufacturer torque specifications — over-tightening damages threads on alloy hub bodies. Keep tool contacts clean and free of grit after Indian road use.

Pairs Well With

Round out your home workshop with a quality torque wrench, a cassette lockring tool for drivetrain work, disc brake rotor bolts or centre-lock rotors, and a chain wear indicator tool. Keeping these together means faster, more accurate servicing between rides.
