Description
Indian roads demand wheels that can handle everything — smooth expressway tarmac on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, waterlogged patches during the monsoon, and punishing climbs up the Western Ghats or Coorg's coffee-country roads. The Elite Wheels Drive 65d Carbon DISC Wheelset is a serious performance upgrade built for riders who want aerodynamic speed without sacrificing real-world durability.
Use Cases
Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.
Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.
All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.
Our Take
At Rs. 1,35,999, the Drive 65d Carbon DISC Wheelset positions itself as a premium performance choice selected for riders who spend serious time in the saddle. The deep-section carbon rim profile pays dividends on the flat roads around Pune and Chennai, while the disc-specific design gives confident braking on steep Ghat descents regardless of monsoon moisture. For riders in Delhi or Hyderabad covering fast club rides, this is a wheel upgrade you feel from the first pedal stroke.
Sizing for Indian Riders
Wheelset fit comes down to three checks: frame axle standard (quick-release or thru-axle with exact dimensions), brake interface (Centerlock or 6-bolt disc), and cassette body (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo). Indian summers above 35°C do not affect rim integrity on carbon disc wheels, but do confirm tyre clearance — wider tubeless tyres run cooler and absorb road buzz better.
Compatibility Notes
These are disc-brake-specific wheels — not compatible with rim brake frames. Confirm your frame's axle dimensions precisely before ordering. Tubeless-ready construction requires tubeless-compatible tyres, valves, and sealant purchased separately. Check Elite Wheels' recommended service intervals for hub bearings, especially if riding through monsoon conditions regularly in Kolkata or coastal Chennai where grit and water ingress accelerate bearing wear.
Pairs Well With
Complete your setup with a set of tubeless road tyres sized for the rim's inner width, quality tubeless sealant, and a full tubeless valve kit. Add a calibrated torque wrench for correct thru-axle installation and a set of disc brake rotors matched to your brake calliper standard.
