Description
India's roads demand wheels that can handle everything from smooth Pune-Nashik expressway tarmac to monsoon-battered Ghats surfaces and sun-cracked city streets — sometimes within the same ride. The Princeton Carbonworks Dual 5550 DISC Wheelset is a precision carbon wheelset built for serious road cyclists who want performance that doesn't compromise on real-world durability. At Rs. 3,22,000, this is a top-tier investment for riders who know that wheels are the single most-felt upgrade on any bike.
Use Cases
Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.
Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.
All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.
Our Take
The Dual 5550 DISC sits in Princeton CarbonWorks' core performance line, pairing a 55mm deep front with a 50mm rear — an asymmetric profile that balances aerodynamic efficiency with crosswind stability. For Indian riders tackling the Western Ghats or flat, fast stretches around Hyderabad and Chennai, this balance matters. The disc-specific build pairs well with modern thru-axle frames, and the carbon construction keeps the wheel feeling responsive and lively on every surface.
Sizing for Indian Riders
Wheelsets don't come in body sizes, but compatibility is everything. Confirm your frame's axle standard (most modern road bikes use 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axle), brake rotor attachment (Centerlock or 6-bolt), and cassette body type (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo) before ordering. In India's heat above 35°C, disc brakes perform more consistently than rim brakes — a genuine advantage here.
Compatibility Notes
These are disc-brake-specific wheels — not compatible with rim brake frames. Confirm thru-axle dimensions, cassette body compatibility, and rotor standard with your current groupset. The carbon rims are tubeless-ready; tubeless setup requires compatible tyres, valves, and sealant (sold separately at Cobbled Climbs). Follow Princeton CarbonWorks' recommended bearing service intervals to maintain smooth rolling performance over Indian road conditions.
Pairs Well With
Complete your build with premium road tyres suited to the rim width, tubeless sealant and valve kit for a puncture-resistant setup, disc brake rotors matched to your caliper standard, and a quality torque wrench to ensure correct installation. All categories are available at Cobbled Climbs with free delivery above Rs. 2,500 and cash on delivery across India.
