Dummy Pedals

Dummy Pedals from IceToolz serve a specific but essential purpose in any cyclist's toolkit — they protect crank arm threads during storage, shipping, or when swapping between multiple bikes. At Rs. 790, they are a small investment that prevents costly crank arm thread damage, a common issue when bikes sit unused through India's long monsoon season or during transit. Cobbled Climbs is the exclusive Indian distributor for Campagnolo in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable cleat retention and bearing durability for repeat training use.

Race day. Lightweight design and clean release for competitive efforts.

Indoor training. Smooth float and compatibility with indoor trainer setups.

Our Take

Every cyclist who rotates between bikes or stores a build during the monsoon months needs a pair of dummy pedals. Thread damage on a crank arm is an expensive repair — far costlier than this simple precaution. For riders in Pune, Delhi, or Chennai who box their bikes for train or flight travel to events in Leh or Coorg, dummy pedals are non-negotiable protection. Simple, sensible, worth every rupee.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Dummy pedals are not size-dependent in the traditional sense. The standard 9/16-inch thread fits virtually all adult crank arms from road, gravel, and MTB groupsets. Confirm your crank arm thread standard before ordering — older or kids' bikes may use a 1/2-inch thread. No heat or fit considerations apply here.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with all crank arms using the standard 9/16-inch pedal thread — this covers Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo, and most third-party cranks. Not suitable for 1/2-inch thread cranks found on some older or children's bicycles. Install hand-tight only; no grease or torque tool required for temporary storage use.

Pairs Well With

Round out your bike maintenance kit with a quality pedal wrench for clean installation and removal, a bicycle-specific torque wrench for setting correct pedal torque when reinstalling performance pedals, a bike travel case or bag for those Leh or Ooty trip adventures, and a thread repair kit for crank arm maintenance.
