Eroica Monte Baselayer

A base layer might seem like an odd call in India's heat, but the right one transforms your ride. The Santini Eroica Monte Baselayer uses technical moisture-wicking fabric to pull sweat away from skin, keeping you cooler on Western Ghats climbs, Chennai coastal routes, and Delhi summer training blocks where humidity compounds every effort.

Use Cases

Hot conditions. Lightweight wicking base layer for under jerseys in 35°C+ Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai heat.

Cool weather rides. Thermal base layer for Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru winter morning starts.

Long rides. Moisture management for full-day rides where sweat regulation defines comfort.

Our Take

For Indian conditions, a quality base layer earns its place even at 35°C+. The Eroica Monte's moisture-wicking construction manages the sweat load that builds on Pune–Lonavala climbs or Hyderabad group rides in May. It dries quickly, handles frequent washing through a monsoon week, and sits close enough to the skin to work under any jersey without bunching. At Rs. 2,950 with free delivery above Rs. 2,500, it's a well-priced entry into Santini's technical apparel range.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Santini follows European sizing, which cuts slimmer than most Indian and Asian brands. If you wear a medium in Indian brands, start with a large in Santini. Riders above 90 kg or with broader shoulders should size up one. In Pune and Bangalore winters, if you plan to layer this under a jersey, go one size up for comfortable movement.

Compatibility Notes

Works across road, gravel, MTB, and commuter setups. Pairs cleanly under any Santini jersey for a cohesive fit. Machine washable — avoid fabric softener, which breaks down moisture-wicking properties. Hang to dry; tumble drying damages technical fabric. Store completely dry between rides to prevent mildew during monsoon months.

Pairs Well With

Complete the setup with a lightweight cycling jersey for layering on cooler Coorg or Ooty mornings, UV-protective arm sleeves for Chennai and Ahmedabad sun exposure, a well-ventilated road helmet for hot-weather comfort, and quality cycling bib shorts for full-contact efficiency on longer efforts.
