FFWD 77 Disc Brake Wheelset

At Rs. 1,49,500, the Fast Forward FFWD 77 Disc Brake Wheelset is a serious performance investment for riders who spend their weekends on the Western Ghats, Coorg, or chasing Strava segments on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway. Carbon construction, disc-brake optimisation, and tubeless readiness make this a wheel worth choosing deliberately — and pairing correctly.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

The FFWD 77 sits at the deep-section end of Fast Forward's road and gravel range, offering real aerodynamic returns on flat corridors like the Chennai–Bangalore highway while staying stiff enough for the punchy gradients of Lonavala and Khandala. For Indian riders navigating roads that shift from smooth tarmac to broken surface inside a single kilometre, a wheel that combines lateral stiffness with tubeless compatibility earns its place on any performance build.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit is not about body size — it is about standards. Confirm your frame's axle specification (most modern Indian disc-brake road bikes run 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axle), your cassette body requirement (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo), and your maximum tyre clearance. In the monsoon season, running a slightly wider tyre on these rims improves wet-road confidence considerably.

Compatibility Notes

These wheels are designed for disc-brake frames only — do not attempt use on rim-brake forks. Confirm the rotor mounting standard (Centerlock or 6-bolt) matches your existing rotors before ordering. Tubeless setup requires tubeless-compatible tyres, valves, and sealant — none are included. Check Fast Forward's recommended service intervals for bearing maintenance, particularly if riding in monsoon or dusty Rajasthan and Leh conditions.

Pairs Well With

Complete the build with a set of road or gravel tyres sized for the rim's internal width, a quality tubeless sealant, tubeless valves, and disc brake rotors matching your chosen standard. A calibrated torque wrench is strongly recommended for thru-axle and rotor bolt installation.
