Forekaster XC

The Maxxis Forekaster XC is a cross-country mountain bike tyre built for riders who push hard on mixed terrain — from the rocky singletracks outside Pune to the forested trails near Coorg and Ooty. Designed with traction, durability, and all-condition performance in mind, it handles everything Indian trail riding can throw at it.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Cross-country trail riding in India demands a tyre that grips on dry laterite, bites into wet mud after monsoon showers, and rolls efficiently on the fire roads connecting it all. The Forekaster XC does exactly that. The open tread pattern sheds mud without clogging, while the dual-purpose knob layout keeps cornering predictable even on the loose, unpredictable surfaces common around Lonavala, Khandala, and the Nilgiris. A genuinely capable XC tyre for Indian trail riders.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The Forekaster XC is a mountain tyre — check your wheel diameter (29er, 27.5, or 26-inch) and frame clearance before ordering. Indian riders who carry added kit or ride heavier trail bikes should lean toward the wider available options for better comfort and grip. Confirm rim hookless or hooked compatibility and tubeless-readiness before fitting.

Compatibility Notes

Available in both rigid bead and folding bead variants. Tubeless-ready versions require a tubeless-compatible rim, sealant, and valves. Verify your rim's internal width matches the tyre's recommended fitment range. Always follow Maxxis's published pressure guidelines — running correct pressure is critical on India's hardpack and loose-over-hard trail surfaces.

Pairs Well With

Complete your trail setup with quality tubeless sealant, CO2 inflators and a mini pump for trailside emergencies, mountain bike tubes as a backup, and a full-face or trail helmet rated for XC and trail riding. Available at Cobbled Climbs with free delivery on orders above Rs. 2,500 and cash on delivery across India.
