Freehub Body Kit - 188

The Zipp Freehub Body Kit - 188 is a precision replacement component designed to restore or upgrade the drivetrain engagement on your Zipp 188 hub. Whether you're riding through Pune's monsoon-soaked lanes, grinding up the Western Ghats, or clocking highway kilometres between Delhi and Agra, maintaining a reliable freehub is essential to consistent power transfer and drivetrain longevity. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Time in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Zipp's 188 freehub body is the kind of component that earns its price quietly — you only notice it when something lesser fails mid-ride. For Indian riders dealing with grit, dust, and the occasional waterlogged road between Lonavala and Khandala, keeping this part in good condition means your cassette engages cleanly every time. At Rs. 11,250, this is a smart investment in preserving an expensive wheelset rather than replacing it entirely.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is not a sizing question in the traditional sense, but compatibility is critical. Confirm your Zipp 188 hub's cassette standard — Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo — before ordering. In India's heat (35°C+ in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad), freehub pawls and springs see real thermal stress; matching the correct body ensures proper engagement under load.

Compatibility Notes

Designed specifically for Zipp 188 hubs. Confirm cassette body standard (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo) before purchase — these are not interchangeable. Compatible with both road and gravel cassette ranges on the appropriate standard. Routine cleaning and light lubrication of the freehub body after monsoon riding or dusty Rajasthan roads is recommended to maintain engagement reliability.

Pairs Well With

Complete your drivetrain refresh by pairing this freehub body with a quality cassette in your preferred standard, hub-specific bearing kits for a full service, appropriate freehub lubricant or grease, and a cassette lockring tool for installation.
