Description

Brake cable condition directly shapes how your MTB responds on technical descents, loose trails, and monsoon-slicked fire roads. The Alligator Galvanised MTB Brake Inner Cable box of 100 is a workshop-ready bulk pack designed for mechanics, bike shops, and riders who take regular maintenance seriously — offering consistent performance at every cable change.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For mountain bikers tackling the Western Ghats, Coorg trails, or the rocky descents around Pune and Lonavala, reliable brake cables are non-negotiable. Alligator's galvanised construction resists the oxidation that India's humidity and monsoon riding accelerate. Buying in bulk makes routine post-monsoon cable replacements cost-effective, and the consistent quality across the box means no guesswork with each installation. A sensible choice for workshops and serious home mechanics alike.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Brake inner cables are not sized by rider body dimensions, but by brake system compatibility. MTB brake cable head shapes differ between flat-bar brake levers — verify your lever's barrel or mushroom-head requirement before installing. If you run multiple bikes or a mixed fleet in a workshop, this bulk box covers a wide range of standard MTB setups efficiently.

Compatibility Notes

These are mechanical brake inner cables intended for MTB flat-bar brake levers. Compatible with standard MTB cable-actuated brakes from Shimano, SRAM, and equivalent systems. Not suitable for hydraulic brake systems. Check cable head shape against your specific lever model before installation. Pair with appropriate outer housing for best braking feel.

Pairs Well With

Complete your cable service with quality outer brake housing, precision cycling-specific cable cutters, cable end caps to prevent fraying, and a cable-compatible lubricant or grease for protection against moisture and corrosion between services.

Fitting

Brake inner cables are not sized to rider dimensions. Compatibility depends on your brake lever's cable head requirement — most MTB flat-bar levers use a standard barrel or mushroom end. Verify your lever's specification before ordering. For workshops managing a mixed fleet across brands such as Shimano or SRAM, this bulk box covers standard MTB cable-actuated brake systems. Contact Cobbled Climbs if you need guidance on compatibility with a specific lever model.
