GRX BL-rx600/BR-Rx400 Hydraulic Disc Brake Set

The Shimano GRX BL-RX600/BR-RX400 Hydraulic Disc Brake Set brings gravel-grade stopping confidence to Indian roads — where monsoon downpours, steep Western Ghats descents, and unpredictable traffic demand brakes that respond with precision and consistency, not guesswork. This is a dedicated hydraulic disc system built for riders who push beyond smooth tarmac.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

India's riding calendar includes months of wet roads, relentless heat above 35°C, and climbs like Lonavala, Coorg, and Ooty where descent speed builds fast. The GRX BL-RX600 lever paired with the BR-RX400 calliper delivers modulated, reliable braking in exactly these conditions. The GRX groupset is designed for off-road and mixed-surface riding, making this set a natural choice for gravel, bikepacking, or rough-road touring across the Deccan or Himalayan foothills.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a brake set, not a sized garment — fit relates to your frame's mount standard and bar diameter, not body size. Indian riders with smaller hands will appreciate the GRX lever's shorter reach design, which reduces hand fatigue on long Ghat climbs. Confirm flat-mount or post-mount compatibility with your frame before ordering. Compatible rotor diameters (140mm, 160mm, 180mm) must match your fork and frame specifications.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for drop-bar gravel and road bikes with hydraulic disc mounts. The BR-RX400 calliper suits flat-mount and post-mount frames — verify before purchase. Use only Shimano mineral oil for bleeding; never substitute DOT fluid, which damages seals. Rotor diameter must match frame and fork specifications. Annual bleeding is recommended, more frequently during and after India's monsoon season when moisture ingress is higher.

Pairs Well With

Complete your GRX build with a compatible GRX rear derailleur and shifter groupset, quality disc rotors in your required diameter, a torque wrench and bleed kit for setup and maintenance, and durable gravel-specific tyres suited to mixed Indian road surfaces.
