Description

The Polygon Impression Ax DISC is a purpose-built tandem bicycle crafted from aluminium with a disc brake system and Shimano Altus groupset. Designed for two riders working in unison, it brings capable, reliable performance to Indian roads — from smooth city expressways in Pune to the winding climbs around Lonavala and beyond.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Tandem cycling in India is a genuinely uncommon sight, which makes the Impression Ax DISC a standout choice for pairs who want to ride together without compromise. The aluminium frame keeps weight in check, disc brakes inspire confidence in wet monsoon conditions and on steep descents, and the Altus drivetrain provides accessible gearing suited to the varied gradients Indian riders encounter. This is a serious machine for committed duos.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Tandem sizing involves fitting two riders simultaneously — captain (front) and stoker (rear) positions must both be comfortable. Polygon's geometry chart is the starting point; measure both riders' inseam and height. In India's heat above 35°C, a slightly more upright fit reduces fatigue on long rides. Contact Cobbled Climbs for tandem-specific sizing guidance before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

The Shimano Altus groupset uses a standard chain-drive system. Disc brakes are hydraulic or mechanical — verify before purchasing rotors or pads. Pedals are not included; choose a system that suits both riders' shoe types. First service after the initial 100km is strongly recommended to check all fasteners and cable tension on this dual-rider platform.

Pairs Well With

Complete your tandem setup with two helmets sized individually, matching cycling shoes for captain and stoker, a high-capacity saddlebag or frame bag for longer rides, and a quality track pump for home maintenance. Browse all categories at Cobbled Climbs.

Fitting

Tandem bikes require both riders to be fitted correctly — the captain controls steering and braking from the front, while the stoker pedals from the rear. Use Polygon's official geometry chart and measure both riders' height and inseam before ordering. In India's heat, a more upright position reduces fatigue over long distances. If between sizes, consult Cobbled Climbs for tandem-specific advice. Professional bike fit is strongly recommended after delivery.
