Io Rio

At Rs. 4,50,000, the Mavic Io Rio is a carbon wheelset built for riders who demand serious performance from their machine. Whether you're pushing pace on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway, grinding up the Western Ghats near Lonavala, or tackling the mixed surfaces that define riding in Chennai or Hyderabad, these wheels are designed to deliver precision, speed, and confidence on every type of tarmac India throws at you.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

The Mavic Io Rio represents a meaningful step up in wheel technology — carbon construction brings a noticeable improvement in responsiveness and roll speed that riders in Pune's cycling community or on Delhi's flatter roads will immediately feel. For Indian conditions, where road quality shifts from glassy expressway to broken tarmac within kilometres, the combination of lateral stiffness and vertical compliance in a carbon rim is genuinely practical, not just aspirational. This is a wheelset that rewards consistent riders.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit isn't about body size — it's about drivetrain and frame compatibility. Confirm your axle standard (QR or thru-axle dimensions), brake type (rim or disc, Centerlock or 6-bolt), and cassette body type (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo) before ordering. In India's heat, rim temperature under disc braking deserves attention — carbon rims perform well with disc setups in steep Ghat descents.

Compatibility Notes

Carbon construction requires disc-compatible or carbon-specific brake pads if using rim brakes — never use standard alloy-pad compounds on a carbon rim surface. Tubeless-ready rims need tubeless tyres, sealant, and valves for a complete setup. Verify axle, brake standard, and cassette body compatibility with your specific frame and groupset before placing your order.

Pairs Well With

Complete your Io Rio build with tubeless-ready performance tyres sized for the rim's internal width, quality tubeless sealant and valve kit, disc brake rotors in your chosen standard, and a calibrated torque wrench for correct hub and rotor installation. Cash on delivery available across India; free delivery on orders above Rs. 2,500.
