Organic Shimano Zee/Saint Disc Brake Pads

The Kool-Stop KS-D640 disc brake pads are engineered for riders who demand consistent stopping power across varying terrain and weather conditions. Compatible with a carefully selected range of Shimano hydraulic disc brake systems, these pads bring dependable performance to trail, enduro, and all-mountain riding — qualities that matter whether you're descending the Western Ghats or navigating the rain-soaked lanes of Pune during monsoon season.

Our Take

Kool-Stop has long been trusted by serious cyclists for pad compounds that hold up under real-world stress. The KS-D640 is no exception — its compound is well-suited to the demanding braking scenarios Indian riders face: long descents on Ooty and Lonavala roads, combined with heat exceeding 35°C that can accelerate brake fade on cheaper alternatives. For mountain bikers running Shimano Zee, Saint, or Deore XT, these are a reliable upgrade worth carrying in your kit bag.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Disc brake pads are not sized by body measurement but by brake system compatibility. Confirm your specific Shimano brake model before ordering — the KS-D640 fits Shimano Zee BR-M640, Saint BR-M810/M820, Deore XT BR-M8020, and MT420/520, M7120, M9120 callipers. If you are unsure of your brake model, check the calliper body for the model number stamped or printed on the housing.

Compatibility Notes

The KS-D640 includes the spring and is compatible with Shimano Zee BR-M640, Saint BR-M810 and BR-M820, Deore XT BR-M8020, and MT420/520, M7120, M9120 systems. These are hydraulic disc brake pads — not suitable for mechanical or rim brake systems. Replace pads before they wear below the minimum thickness indicator to protect your rotors.

Pairs Well With

Complete your braking setup with quality disc brake rotors in the appropriate size for your wheel diameter and riding style. A hydraulic brake bleed kit ensures your system stays sharp after hard use. Pair with all-mountain or enduro tyres for trail grip, and a cassette and chain suited to your Shimano drivetrain groupset.
