Ksyrium PRO Ust RIM Wheelset

The Mavic Ksyrium PRO UST RIM Wheelset is a precision-engineered road wheelset built for riders who want measurable performance gains on every ride. Whether you're chasing Strava segments on Pune's Sinhagad climb, grinding up the Western Ghats, or training on Chennai's coastal roads, this wheel system is designed to deliver speed, compliance, and reliability in demanding conditions.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

Mavic's Ksyrium PRO UST RIM wheelset hits a sweet spot between race-day performance and everyday durability — qualities that matter when Indian tarmac can shift from smooth expressway to broken chip-seal within a kilometre. The tubeless-ready construction is particularly valuable here: lower pressures improve ride quality on rough surfaces while reducing puncture risk during long climbs to Lonavala or Khandala. A serious, considered upgrade for the performance-focused Indian rider.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit isn't about body size — it's about matching three specifications: axle standard (QR 130mm is common on older road bikes; thru-axle on modern frames), brake type (these are rim-brake wheels, so confirm your frame uses rim calipers), and cassette body compatibility with your drivetrain. Indian summers at 35°C+ don't affect alloy rim performance, unlike carbon rims under hard braking.

Compatibility Notes

These are rim-brake wheels — not compatible with disc-brake frames. Confirm your cassette body matches your drivetrain (Shimano HG, SRAM, or Campagnolo). UST tubeless-ready rims require tubeless-compatible tyres, valve stems, and sealant for a tubeless setup. Standard clincher tyres work without modification. Check Mavic's recommended service intervals for hub bearings and spoke tension after monsoon riding.

Pairs Well With

Complete the setup with tubeless road tyres suited to Indian surfaces, a quality tubeless sealant and valve kit, a track pump with pressure gauge for consistent tyre pressure management, and rim-brake pads compatible with alloy rim surfaces. A torque wrench is recommended for proper axle and skewer installation.
