Lieve Baselayer

Training through Pune's summer heat, Chennai's year-round humidity, or Lonavala's monsoon climbs demands a base layer that earns its place in your kit. The Santini Lieve Baselayer is built for exactly these conditions — moisture-wicking technical fabric and a close-to-skin construction that manages sweat and temperature during sustained efforts on Indian roads.

Use Cases

Hot conditions. Lightweight wicking base layer for under jerseys in 35°C+ Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai heat.

Cool weather rides. Thermal base layer for Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru winter morning starts.

Long rides. Moisture management for full-day rides where sweat regulation defines comfort.

Our Take

The Santini Lieve stands out for Indian riders because it addresses the two things that matter most here: heat management above 35°C and durability through frequent washing. Whether you're grinding up Ooty's switchbacks, putting in morning intervals on the Hyderabad ring road, or logging weekend kilometres on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway service road, this base layer keeps moisture away from skin and stays put under your jersey without bunching. The silicone hem gripper is a small detail that makes a real difference on long efforts.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Santini uses European sizing, which cuts slimmer than most Indian brands. If you normally wear M in Indian apparel, start with L in Santini. Riders with broader shoulders or above 90kg should size up. In 35°C+ heat, a close fit improves moisture transfer — avoid going too loose. Measure your chest and cross-reference Santini's size chart before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

Works across road, gravel, MTB, and commuter setups. Pairs well under any cycling jersey. Machine washable — use mild detergent at a cool cycle, skip fabric softener as it degrades wicking performance. Hang to dry away from direct sun. During monsoon season, store completely dry to prevent mildew.

Pairs Well With

Complete your kit with a lightweight cycling jersey for layering, UV-protective arm sleeves for long sun-exposed rides, a well-ventilated road helmet for heat management, and quality cycling bib shorts for full-contact comfort on longer efforts.
