Macator MIPS Cycling Helmet

Riding in India demands a helmet that keeps you cool on a 38°C Pune training loop, protected on the Lonavala descent, and compliant with international safety standards every single Time you clip in. The Abus Macator MIPS Cycling Helmet addresses all three priorities in a single package, making it a practical choice for road cyclists across the country.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

The Macator earns its place in our selection for Indian riding conditions by combining MIPS rotational impact protection with a ventilation system designed to manage heat. Whether you are grinding up the Western Ghats or commuting through Hyderabad traffic, the adjustable retention system keeps the helmet locked in place without hot spots. At Rs. 6,890, it sits at a sensible price point for a safety-certified, MIPS-equipped lid that does not compromise on airflow.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Measure your head circumference at the forehead before ordering. Abus sizing generally follows S=51–55 cm, M=55–59 cm, L=59–63 cm, though individual head shapes vary — verify against the Abus size chart. In Indian heat, a slightly snug fit with the retention dial backed off one click can improve airflow around the pads. The helmet should sit level, one finger above the eyebrows, not tilted back.

Compatibility Notes

The Macator MIPS is certified to international safety standards including EN 1078. It is compatible across road and fitness cycling disciplines. The retention system works with most cycling sunglasses; verify temple arm clearance before purchasing eyewear. Helmet pads are sweat-absorbent and removable for washing — essential for Indian humidity. Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even without visible external damage.

Pairs Well With

Complete your kit with a moisture-wicking cycling cap worn under the helmet for sweat management during monsoon and summer rides. Add cycling sunglasses with UV400 protection for Indian sun exposure, a rear visibility light for safety, and breathable cycling gloves to round out your road setup.
