Mattone Saddle Bag

The Silca Mattone Saddle Bag is built for riders who demand precision and reliability from every piece of kit. Whether you're tackling the ghats above Pune, riding self-supported through Coorg, or completing a century out of Hyderabad, a saddle bag that stays put and protects your essentials is non-negotiable on Indian roads.

Use Cases

Daily training. All-day comfort across 2-3 hour training rides in Indian conditions.

Race day. Race-cut profile with cutout for time-trial and aggressive fit positions.

Long endurance rides. Pressure-relief construction for rides exceeding four hours.

Our Take

Silca has long stood for obsessive attention to detail, and the Mattone Saddle Bag carries that philosophy through to bikepacking and long-distance day riding. For Indian conditions — where road surfaces shift from smooth tarmac to broken chip seal within metres and summer temperatures regularly push past 35°C — a bag with a secure mounting system and durable construction earns its place under your saddle on every ride. Selected for Indian conditions by the Cobbled Climbs team.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Saddle bag fit depends on your saddle rail width and seatpost clearance rather than body size. Riders using aero seatposts common on Indian performance road bikes should verify clearance before ordering. If your saddle sits close to your rear tyre — common on compact frames popular with riders of average Indian build — confirm there is sufficient gap for the bag's mounting straps without contact.

Compatibility Notes

The Mattone Saddle Bag uses strap-based mounting, making it broadly compatible with most road and gravel saddles. Verify compatibility with your seatpost and saddle rail configuration before ordering. Not recommended for use with suspension seatposts. All Silca products sold at Cobbled Climbs are 100% genuine and authorised stock, shipped from Mumbai.

Pairs Well With

Complete your carry setup with a compact multi-tool, a quality mini pump, a spare inner tube, and a set of tyre levers. For longer days out from Chennai, Ahmedabad, or on the climbs above Lonavala, add a small frame bag for extra capacity alongside the Mattone.
