Milo Clipless Pedals (one Side SPD

The Xpedo Milo is a one-side SPD clipless pedal built for mountain and trail riding, offering a platform face on one side and an SPD engagement mechanism on the other. This hybrid design suits riders who want the flexibility to ride clipped in or flat-footed — practical for technical descents, urban commutes through Pune's chaotic traffic, or mixed-surface rides in the Western Ghats.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable cleat retention and bearing durability for repeat training use.

Race day. Lightweight design and clean release for competitive efforts.

Indoor training. Smooth float and compatibility with indoor trainer setups.

Our Take

The Milo's one-side SPD design is genuinely useful in India, where trail conditions shift quickly and dismounting frequently is reality — think rocky singletracks above Lonavala or steep fire roads near Coorg. The stainless steel build handles monsoon mud without corroding quickly, and the platform side gives a workable surface when you need a quick dab. A well-priced, practical choice for trail riders who want clipped performance without full commitment.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Pedals are universal fit — the axle thread is standardised at 9/16 inches, fitting nearly all modern crank arms. What matters is your shoe's cleat-mount pattern: the Milo is SPD-compatible (2-bolt), so verify your MTB or trail shoes accept SPD cleats. Riders new to clipless systems should start with higher float to ease knee stress, especially during long climbs in heat above 35°C.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with 2-bolt SPD cleat systems. Axle thread is 9/16 inches, fitting standard crank arms. The platform side accommodates regular flat-soled shoes. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion during monsoon riding. Clean cleat retention springs periodically to remove grit and trail debris. Service bearings regularly if riding in wet or dusty conditions common across Indian trails.

Pairs Well With

Pair these pedals with SPD-compatible MTB trail shoes for secure engagement, a set of spare SPD cleats for long-term reliability, and quality cycling socks for comfort on extended climbs. A pedal wrench and bearing grease round out the essentials for proper installation and maintenance.
