Modrop MIPS MTB Helmet

Mountain biking in India demands a helmet that can handle steep, loose descents in the Western Ghats, dusty forest tracks around Coorg, and punishing summer heat that regularly crosses 35°C. The Abus Modrop MIPS MTB Helmet is built for exactly this kind of riding — combining certified impact protection with a ventilation system and MIPS rotational safety technology that matters when trails get technical.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

The Modrop MIPS earns its place as a serious trail helmet for Indian riders. MIPS rotational protection adds a meaningful layer of safety on the unpredictable surfaces found on Pune's singletrack, Ooty's mountain roads, and rocky forest trails across the country. The ventilation system pulls real airflow at trail speeds, keeping you cooler than you'd expect at 35°C+. For riders investing in a quality MTB setup, this is a well-considered choice.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Abus sizing follows European standards: S covers approximately 51–55cm, M covers 55–59cm, and L covers 59–63cm. Measure your head circumference at the forehead before ordering. Indian riders sometimes find European helmets narrow — use the adjustable retention dial to fine-tune fit. The helmet must sit level, one finger above your eyebrows, with straps forming a V below each ear.

Compatibility Notes

The Modrop MIPS meets international cycling helmet safety standards. It is designed for mountain biking and trail use. The visor is compatible with most cycling sunglasses — verify temple clearance with your specific frames. Clean with mild soap and water only; avoid solvents. Replace immediately after any significant impact, regardless of visible external damage.

Pairs Well With

Complete your MTB kit by pairing the Modrop MIPS with trail-ready cycling sunglasses, MTB gloves for grip and abrasion protection, a hydration pack for long rides in the Western Ghats or Leh, and MTB shoes with grippy soles suited to technical terrain.
