Modrop MTB Cycling Helmet

The Abus Modrop MTB Cycling Helmet is built for riders who push into technical terrain — think Coorg singletrack, Ooty descents, or the rocky trails outside Pune — where head protection, airflow in 35°C+ heat, and a secure fit all matter equally. Certified to international safety standards, it brings German engineering to Indian trail conditions at a price that makes sense.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

The Modrop sits firmly in the trail-MTB category, offering extended rear coverage that road helmets skip entirely. For Indian riders tackling the Western Ghats or the dusty switchbacks above Lonavala, that added protection matters. The ventilation system moves air well even when climbs slow your pace to a crawl in summer heat. Adjustable retention means the helmet stays planted on rough descents — no bounce, no distraction.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Measure head circumference at the forehead — typically S=51–55 cm, M=55–59 cm, L=59–63 cm. Indian head shapes can run wider at the temples; if you are between sizes, size up for comfort during long hot rides in Hyderabad or Chennai summers. The retention system compensates for minor fit differences, but correct circumference sizing is the non-negotiable starting point.

Compatibility Notes

Certified to international safety standards — verify the specific certification on the label before riding. The visor is compatible with most MTB-style cycling glasses; confirm temple clearance with wrap-around frames. Works with standard helmet-mount rear lights and cameras. Replace immediately after any significant impact, even when external damage is not visible.

Pairs Well With

Complete your trail setup with MTB cycling gloves for grip on rough descents, a lightweight merino or technical cycling jersey for sweat management in Indian heat, MTB cycling shoes with a grippy sole, and a hydration pack for longer rides in Coorg or Leh.
