Montegrappa RIM Brake Road Bike

The Wilier Montegrappa is an aluminium endurance road bike built for riders who want Italian engineering without a carbon price tag. Paired with Shimano 105 or Tiagra groupset options and rim brake simplicity, this is a complete platform for long-distance training, club rides, and weekend climbs — delivered ready to ride from Cobbled Climbs in Mumbai.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

For Indian riders tackling the Western Ghats, Pune–Lonavala circuits, or the long flat stretches outside Hyderabad and Chennai, the Montegrappa's endurance geometry rewards hours in the saddle without punishing your lower back. The aluminium frame handles the patched tarmac and speed-breaker reality of Indian roads better than you might expect, and rim brake maintenance is straightforward at any local cycle shop across the country.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wilier sizing follows European conventions — measure your inseam and height carefully against the geometry chart before ordering. Indian riders tend to have shorter torsos relative to leg length; if you are between sizes, size down for a more aggressive fit or size up for comfort on longer rides. A professional bike fit after delivery is strongly recommended, especially for first-time road bike buyers.

Compatibility Notes

This is a rim brake build — ensure any future wheel upgrades use rim brake-compatible rims. The groupset is either Shimano 105 or Tiagra; both use standard cable-pull compatibility. Pedals are not included — order a pair matched to your cleat system (3-bolt SPD-SL or Look). First service after the initial 100km is advised to check cable tension and bolt torques.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with road cycling shoes and clipless pedals, a well-ventilated helmet suited to 35°C+ Indian summers, a quality saddle for long endurance rides, and a mini pump or CO₂ inflator for roadside puncture management. A cycling computer rounds out the package for training data.
